As winter hangs on it’s time to look forward to the new fishing season with hopes that spring comes soon!!

As most of you know Ben DeSantis resigned at the end of last years season from his position as tournament director, so we have an opening in that position need someone to step up and help with these duties. For the time being myself and Tom Morse are going to keep things going, but we need some new blood to step in.

This will be my last year as President, it’s time for new ideas and new direction for the club. We have always tried to run this club with minimal effort, meaning not a lot of meetings to attend, just discuss any issues we had at the ramps or by e-mail and work them out. But by doing it that way, it looks like a small group run the club, and they do, but please don’t think that the rest of the members opinions don’t count. With that being said, it means we should all take an active stance with the club and be willing to jump in and help when needed, it makes it easy to hold the club activities and no one person gets worn out!!  I just want to fish!!

For the past couple of years we have been a non-federation affiliated club, if any one wants to join either of the federations (FLW or BASS) we have to have six members that want to join and pay the dues and we are in, so if you are interested let me know.

As you can see from the club schedule we reduced the number of club tournaments to try to take some pressure off the July and August weekends. The new schedule is a drop 1 schedule, so please try to make them all. We will not have the KBBC tournament as a funds raiser this year, so we will be back to trophies and smaller payouts for AOY and the club championship, in essence we are back to fishing for bragging rights, and that is just fine with me!!

We will be having our opening weekend buddy tournament June 14, so spread the word, it is always a lot of fun the smallies are still on the bay and everyone whacks them!!

We will also be doing the Thursday Night Jackpot Tournaments this year, they are always fun!!
